Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer movie Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is having a bleak kept running in the box office. The movie has earned just Rs. 3.62 crore in two days, as per figures from Chiggy Wiggy.
Likewise featuring Kriti Kharbanda, YPDPS should be the bigger releasing film in this week, the other being Stree starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao. Stree is a movie based on horror-comedy has left behind Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se by miles.
Stree’s two-day box office collection is Rs 17.69 crore, somewhat less than six times that of Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se.
If we talk about the movie story, the jokes that are used are so lame that they are practically invisible. The famous now tired dialogue “ye dhai kilo ka haath’ becomes ‘paanch kilo’ when the dialogue shifts to Dharmendra.
Dharmendra plays a bothersome tenant, always stays in the company of two spooky ladies. The house is claimed by Pooran and Kaala (Sunny and Bobby respectively): the former is an Ayurveda vaid, a genius who can fix all infirmities, including a girl who can’t see, just by taking a gander at them; the latter is a bumbler.
However, this film needs a lot of positive word-of-mouth, which it doesn’t appear to get up until this point. Its critical reviews are very little to expound on either and that is affecting influencing its theatrical performance.
