Happy Birthday Yuvraj Singh: Yuvraj Singh, once the backbone of Team India’s middle order batting, turned 38 today. He retired from international cricket on 10 June 2019.
Yuvraj Singh, once the backbone of Team India’s middle order batting, became 38 years old today (12 December). He retired from international cricket on 10 June 2019. Yuvraj Singh’s international career was volatile, but for more than a decade in his 19-year cricket career, he was a troubleshooter for Team India.
Yuvraj Singh during his career not only with the bat, but also with his bowling, won Team India. He was one of the few cricketers in the country who got a chance to play in all three international formats (Test, ODI and T20). He made millions of fans crazy with his all-round performance.
On 19 September 2007, Yuvraj Singh created history. In the first T20 World Cup played in South Africa, Yuvraj hit 6 sixes in all 6 balls of an over by Stuart Broad of England. He became the second batsman to hit six sixes in an over after African bigot Herschelle Gibbs in international cricket.
Sixes off all balls in one over
It was the 18th over of India’s innings, Andrew Flintoff was bowling and he was heard saying with Yuvraj. Actually, Flintoff made lewd gestures towards Yuvraj, but Broad suffered. In the 19th over, Yuvraj brought all the balls of Broad across the boundary line. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni standing at the other end of the crease just kept watching Yuvi.

Broad said – Yuvi made me bowler with 6 sixes
After Yuvraj’s retirement from cricket, Stuart Broad said in an interview, ‘Yuvi made me a bowler with 6 sixes. When he hit me for six sixes, I was 21 at the time. There was no experience of bowling in the death over. In this match, Yuvraj was hitting the ball very well. On that day, no delivery-yorker was supporting me.
