Delhi Police registers FIR against JNU student protests, matter raised in Parliament

The case of fee hike in JNU is getting heated. Delhi Police on Monday lodged an FIR in connection with student protests. Meanwhile, BSP MP Danish Ali raised a demand for a high-level inquiry into the issue in the Lok Sabha.

There has been a piece of big news in Jawaharlal Nehru University amidst the protests by the students about the fee hike and the discussion in the Lok Sabha about the police action taken on them. Delhi Police has filed an FIR (Monday) regarding Monday’s protest. An uproar in the Lok Sabha on this news is expected.
During the Lok Sabha action on Tuesday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali demanded a high-level inquiry from the government, accusing the JNU student of lathi charge and vandalism. He said that the government should apologize for this blasphemous incident.

On being called by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the MP from Amroha in UP said, ‘I have stood here to raise an important issue. The manner in which the lathi charge has been imposed on the students of Jawaharlal University is condemnable. A high-level inquiry should be conducted and the government apologizes. Delhi Police has brutally cracked down on students.
