Director Amit Sharma’s Badhaai Ho has finished this weekend on a remarkable note. Despite facing stiff struggle from Saif Ali Khan’s Baazaar, the film showed large growth each passing day. Badhaai Ho collected Rs 18.15 crore in the last weekend and now stands with the grand total of Rs 84.25 crore. We are expectant the film to cross the Rs 90 crore mark by the end of its second week at the ticket windows and if the film holds well post that, it will enter the Rs 100 crore club at the box office.
Apart from the local circuit, the film has achieved exceedingly well in the international markets, specially at the Austrailian box office, where it crossed the A$ 500,000 mark. Talking about the irresistible response, Ayushmann said, “It is an overwhelming and a humbling moment for me as an actor. As an artiste, I have always backed concepts, filmmakers who were doing clutter breaking work. I think I have been lucky enough in my journey to have got the right films and I’m thankful to all my filmmakers for believing in me.”
He further added, “It is truly rare to receive so much love. As an artiste, you only want to entertain people. So, this appreciation is extremely moving and empowering. It motivates me to do better work, to scout for better scripts and to be disruptive yet entertaining.”
