Argentina national football team has called off its friendly versus Israel as the football match was protested against by pro Palestinian groups.
A report from the Argentina football federation on tuesday said the match that was to be played on saturday at teddy kolleck stadium in jerusalem will be called off.The head of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub has also long urged Fifa to expell Israel from the international Football Federation.
Argentine stricker Gonzalo Higuain said in a interview “In the end, they’ve done right thing, and this is behind us,” Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain said. “Health and common sense come first. We felt that it wasn’t right to go.”
Argentina’s potential road to victory will start against Iceland on June 16.
